Given :  cylindrical tank of base diameter 28 m and height 5400 cm

To Find :   the cost of painting the surface of the tank at the rate of 20 per m².

capacity in litres.

Solution:

Diameter = 28 m

=> Radius = 28/2 = 14 m

Height = 5400 cm = 54 m

Surface area = 2πrh + 2πr²

= 2πr(h + r)

= 2(22/7)14 (54 + 14)

= 88 ( 68)

= 5984 m²

cost of painting the surface of the tank at the rate of 20 per m².  = 20 * 5984  = Rs 1,19,680

Volume = πr²h

= (22/7)(14)² * 54

= 22 * 28 * 54

= 33264 m³

1 m³ = 1000 litre

Capacity = 33264 * 1000 litre

= 33264000 litre
