hey mate!
The swadeshi movement was launched in 1906 to express anger against the partition of bengal.
The boycott movement was an extension of swadeshi movement in which Indians surrendered all British items.
Most of the ready made items were supplied by British, like clothes, food, jobs etc.
When Boycott movement started people stopped using British items and hence, there was a need to manufacture items on our own.
This caused problems as we were dependent on the British erstwhile for almost everything.
When the boycott movement started, Khadi cloth was prepared by hand which cost triple the price of British made clothes because they were processed in factories.
So boycott movement had to be called off.
This made people realise that they had to be self reliant and stop depending on others.
Hope it helps.
