Answer: The switching technique required for installing a landline telephone line is Circuit switching.

In-circuit switching, a physical path was developed between the sender and the receiver is established. This path is maintained until the connection is required. Circuit switching is implemented within the Physical layer and is employed in telephonic systems. Two different switching techniques are used inside the phone system- circuit and packet.

Switching technique:- Switched communication networks are those during which data transferred from source to destination is routed between various intermediate nodes. Switching is that the technique by which nodes control or switch data to transmit it between specific points on a network.

Circuit switching:- Circuit switching could be a method of implementing a telecommunications network within which two network nodes establish a frenzied communications channel through the network before the nodes may communicate. The circuit guarantees the complete bandwidth of the channel and remains connected for the duration of the communication session.

Packet switching:- Packet switching could be a method of grouping data which is transmitted over a digital network into packets. Packets are fabricated from a header and a payload. Data within the header is employed by networking hardware to direct the packet to its destination where the payload is extracted and employed by application software.
