Apartheid was a racist system of classification followed in a large part of 20th century in South Africa. The Whites in South Africa, though a minority, were very powerful and rich, and hence controlled the government.

They issued a series of racist laws, which stripped the Blacks, Asians and Coloured people of South Africa off their civil liberties and political freedoms. Some places were even restricted from their entry, such as beaches and parks.

This system, however, came to an end after a decades - long movement, led by Nelson Mandela, and constituted South Africa into a secular democratic state in Africa.

Answer:

Explanation:Apartheid was the name of a system of racial discrimination unique to South Africa where only the whites were considered as superior and blacks were considered as inferior. The white rulers treatted all white as inferiors and the non-whites did have voting right. The Apartheid system was particularly oppressive for the blacks. They were forbidden from living in white areas. Event train ,buses, taxis,Hospital, schools, colleges, hostels etc. all where different from blacks and whites and this was called segregation. The blacks did not even visit the churches where whites worshipped. By this we can see that Apartheid followed in South Africa was unjust and racist
