Here,C.I. = daily ecpenditures(in rupees)

fi = frequency

xi = class mark =( lower limit + upper limit)/2

for eg. Lower limit of C.I.(100-150) = 100

& Upper limit of C.I.(100-150) = 150

therefore xi = (100+150)/2 = 125

Let us construct a table for above given values.

C.I. fi xi fixi

100-150 4 125 500

150-200 5 175 875

200-250 12 225 2700

250-300 2 275 550

300-350 2 325 650

Total of fi = 25 & Total of fixi = 5275

Mean = Total of fixi/Total of fi

= 5275/25 = 211 ans.
