∴ All possible outcomes = 75

(1) Let E be the age of teacher are 40 or more than 40 years old.

Number of favourable outcomes = 37 + 8 = 45

∴ P(E) = \dfrac{Number of favourable outcomes}{All possible outcomes}

= \dfrac{45}{75} =\dfrac{3}{5}

Hence,  P(E) =\dfrac{3}{5}
