Given,

We are given a table alongside which shows the number of insects, by type that Bobby saw at a picnic.

To Find,

To select all the true statements among the given statements.

Solution,

Out of all the statements, Statement (a) and (b) are true.

Statement (a) states that, the ratio of flies to all insects is 1:5.

Number of flies+ 8

Number of insects= Number of flies+ Number of ants+ Number of bees+ Number of ladybugs.

                             = 8+22+4+6

                             = 40

Ratio of flies to all insects= 8:40

                                         = 1:5

Statement (b) states that, for every 1 bee, there are 10 insects.

Number of bees= 4

Number of insects= 40

Ratio of bees to all insects= 4:40

                                           = 1:10

Hence, the above proves states that the statement (a) and (b) are true according to Bobby's observation at picnic.
