Arrangement of daigram as shown in figure ,
Here , N = 280
∴N/2 = 280/2 = 140 , it is less than 182 hence, we consider 182 cumulative frequency { CF } . In diagram it is cleared by red circle .
∴ F = 49, f = 133 , l = 10 , h = (15 - 10) = 5 and CF = 49
Now, use the formula ,
Median = l + (N/2 - CF)/f × h
so, median = 10 + (140 - 49)/133 × 5
= 10 + 91 × 5/133
= 10 + 3.42 = 13.42
Hence, median = 13.42
Here , N = 280
