there lived a girl named Belinda. she had a little grey mouse named blink and a little black kitten called ink. she had a yellow dog called mustard and a real and true little dragon called custard. they lived in a little white house. custard the dragon had big sharp teeth, spikes on top of his body and scales underneath. his mouth looked like a fireplace and had chimney like nose. he also had daggers on his toes (nails). belinda was a brave girl. ink and blink chased lions down the stairs. mustard was as brave as a tiger in a range, but custard always cried for a nice safe cage. Belinda usually tickled him unmercifully. ink and Blink rudely called him Percival and they all sat laughing in a little red wagon, Belinda giggled and shook the house and blink said week which is giggling for a mouse ink and mustard rudely ask his age when custard cried for a nice safe cage. one day they heard and nasty sound. they all looked around and saw a pirate climbing on the window. the pirate had pistols on his right and left hands and he held a bright cutlass on his teeth. he had a black beard. and one of his leg was wood. it was clear that the pirate meant no good. Belinda cried help help, mustard fled with the terrified yelp. all the other animals fled for cover. but custard sprang up on the pirate, snorting like an engine. the pirate fired two bullets but they did not hit him. custard went at the pirate and gobbled him up.

belinda embraced him. and mustard licked him. no one mourned for the death of the pirate. mustard boasted that he would have been brave if he hadn't been flustered.

everyone still lives there as usual. custard still cries for a nice safe cage
