given, for a distance of 10 km the charge paid is 220.i.e,x+10y=220

let it be equation 1.

for a journey of 15 km the charge paid is ®310.i.e,x+15y=310.let it be equation 2.

solving equations 1 and 2..

1)the fixed charge per km is ®410.

2)charge for travelling 25km =x+25y=40+25(18)=40+450=®490.
