The taxi fare in a city is as follows: For the first kilometer, the fare is Rs. 20 an for the subsequent distance it is Rs. 6 per km. Taking x km as the distance covered and Rs. y as the total fare, write a linean equation for this information and draw its graph.​

Given: The distance covered as x km and total fare is Rs. y.

Total fare =the fare for first km + the fare of the remaining distance

\therefore y=8+5\times (x-1)

\Rightarrow y=8+5x-5

\Rightarrow y=3+5x

For graph,

Putting x=0, we have y=3+5(0)=3

Putting x=1, we have y=3+5(1)=8

Putting x=2, we have y=3+5(2)=13

Hence,(0,3),(1,8) and (2,13) are solutions of equation.
