A very simple eq. will be formed.

According to question, for first kilometer ...the fare is 8 Rupees.

And total distance covered is x .

So, for first kilometer : Taxi fare = 1*8

=8 Rs.

So, distance left= x-1

and taxi fare taken is y Rs.

So , eq : (x-1)*5+ 8 = y

5 x - 5 +8= y

5x -y+3=0.
