The Taylor tool life equation is used to calculate the life of the tool with respect to the
cutting speed of the tool. Suppose a carbide tool is used with the cutting speed of
V mm/min and the tool life of T min . If the cutting speed reduced by 20%. Calculate the
effect on the tool life. Assuming machining constant as 350 and tool life exponent as 0.3.
a) The tool life increased by 110%
b) The tool life reduced by 110%
c) The tool life increased by 10%
d) The tool life decreased by 10%
