The Boston Tea Party was a major event in the story of American independence.

Boston Tea Party refers to an incident which took place on 16 December 1773 at the Boston Harbor. American patriots disguised themselves as Mohawk Indians and threw 342 chests of tea overboard from the ships which belonged to the British East India Company. This was done to protest against the British Parliament's tax on tea.
