1. Habitat destruction - Loss of habitat is one of the important reason of many species becoming endangered. People cut down large number of trees and also clears down forests to build infrastructures like buildings, industries, etc. This leads to destruction of the animals' habitat. Due to this, animals do not get proper place to live and this results in death of many animal species.

2. Pollution - Pollution is also one of the reason of why many species are becoming endangered. Our environment is polluted by the activities of humans. Many harmful chemicals are released into the aquatic bodies such as ponds, rivers, etc, which pollutes the water bodies causing harm to the aquatic animals living there.

3. Poaching - Overhunting of animals by humans is also a reason of species becoming endangered. For example: the extinction of Dodo bird is due to overhunting by human beings.

4. Climate change - It is also one of the factor of species becoming endangered. Global warming, acid rain, etc, are the reasons of climate change.
