Answer:

She can separate iron filings using a magnet from the mixture. The rest mixture of sand and iodine is heated in a china dish with an inverted funnel on it. Iodine will sublime and deposit in the cooler part of the funnel. The sand is left behind in the china dish. Thus all components of the mixture are separated.

Answer with Explanation:

Firstly, she takes the mixture to a cold conical flask which is closed with cotton plug. Then, she provides heat to the flask, as a result of which, iodine sublimes and forms gaseous iodine in the flask, which again cools down to solid iodine, and settles, after touching the surface of the conical flask. Then she should scrap out the iodine. Then, she should bring a magnet, close to the mixture which is left (I.e. mixture of sand and iron fillings). The magnet attracts the iron fillings but the sand does not get attracted. Hence, each substance from the mixture is obtained.

Here, we need to remember the property of each substance in the mixture. Then only we can understand the answer.

Iron fillings - magnetic substance

iodine - sublimable substance

sand - does not go through any of the processes
