Given sentence :-
The teacher said, " The Earth is a heavenly body."
Its indirect form :-
The teacher said that the Earth is a heavenly body.
Note :- While changing direct to indirect, we don't change the reporting verb (said) if it is not used with to.
=> We don't change the tense inside the inverted commas if it's a universal truth or habitual fact. Since, the Earth is a heavenly body, is universally true, we didn't change its tense to the respective past tense.
=> We replace the inverted commas with the word "that" while changing direct speech to indirect speech.
Hope it helps dear friend ☺️✌️
