Let lowest marks = x

given that -

highest marks = twice the lower mark + 7

Highest marks = 2x + 7

Also,

Highest marks = 87

thus,

2x + 7 = 87

2x = 87 - 7

2x = 80

x = 80 / 2

x = 40

therefore lowest marks = 40

thank me if possible ✌️

Answer:

2x - lowest  marks + 7 = 87 \\ 2x - x + 7 = 87 \\ x + 7 = 87 \\ x = 87 - 7 = 80 \\ 2xof80 = 40 \\

So 2×40+7=87

Therefore 40 is the answer.
