The temperature at 12 noon was 10℃ above zero. If it decreases at the rate of 20℃ per

hour until midnight, at what time would the temperature be 8℃ below zero? What would

be the temperature at midnight?

Answer:

Change in temperature = 10 - ( -8 ) = 18°C. Rate of decrease = 2° per hour. Time = 18 / 2 = 9 hours. So, the time at which temperature goes 8°C below 0 is 9:00 PM.Jul 24, 2018

Answer:

so I'm having answer but I'm not getting how to explain it in much detail, hope u understand

as temperature is droping at 20° C per hour temperature at 1'o clock will be -10

but we need temperature as - 8, meaning we need decrease in temperature to be 18°

so to find in how much time temperature will fall by 18 degree we go by simple method

20 = 1 (hour)

18 = x

so from above x will be 18/20

which is 0.9 hrs

so for converting it into minutes we will multiply it by 60 , that will be 54min

so accurately at 12:54 the temperature will be 8° below 0

then we need temperature at mid night

so total time from noon to mid night is 12 hrs

and temperature is falling at rate of 20° per hour

so in 12 hrs the total fall in temperature will be 240°

and temperature at midnight will be 230° (just don't ask me why, it's easy)

I think no one can live in such cold environment as all gases are going to liquefy at that low temperature

so I hope u have got your answer
