The temperature at 12 noon was 10 degree Celsius above 0. If it decrease at the rate of 2 degree celcius per hour until midnight ,at what time would the temperature at mid night .

Temperature at 12 noon —> 10° C

Rate of decrease —> 2°C/hour

12 noon to midnight —> 12 hours

∴Decrease in temperature = 12x2

= 24°C

Temperature at midnight = 10-24

= -14°C
