The temperature at noon at a certain place is 12 degrees above zero. If it decreases at the rate of 2 degrees per
hour until midnight, at what time would the temperature be 8°C below zero? What would be the temperature
mid-night?

Step-by-step explanation:

tamp at noon = +12°

decreasing rate = 2°/h

difference in tamp = 12-(-8) = 20°

time taken = 20/2 = 10 hours

=> clock time to reach -8° =(12+10) hours

= 22h =( 22-12) PM = 10 PM

at midnight the tamp = tamp at 10 PM- (12-10)×2

= -8-4 = -12°

=> the tamp at midnight is 12° bellow 0.

=> (1) at 10 PM, (2) midnight tamp= - 12°
