the temperature of 600g of cold water rises by 15°C when 300 g of hot water at 50°C decided to it. What was the initial temperature of the cold water ?

tf(final)=x+15

Using principle of calorimetry,

Heat lost by hot body=heat gained by cold body.

mcΔt=mcΔt

300*4.2*(50-(x+15))=600*4.2*15

300/600 &4.2/4.2

1*1*35-x=2*1*15

35-x=30

x=35-30

x=5
