Step-by-step explanation:

Present Temperature - 2 degrees

Rate of cooling- 2 degrees per hour .

Hour in which it will be 18 degrees = ?

= 1st hour = 2 degrees - 2degrees = 0

=2nd hour = 0 degrees - 2 degrees=(-2)

=3rd hour  = -2 degrees - 2 degrees= (-4)

4th hour     = (-4 ) degrees - 2 degrees= (-6)

5th hour     = (-6) degrees - 2 degrees = (-8)

6th hour     = (-8 ) degrees - 2 degrees = (-10)

7th hour     = (-10) degrees - 2 degrees  = (-12)

8th hour     = (-12) degrees - 2 degrees   = (-14)

9th hour     = (-14) degrees  - 2 degrees    = (-18)

Thus in the 9th hour  the temperature will become (-18 degrees ).
