Given:

The temperature of Bangalore was 20°C in the morning. The temperature increased by 19°C and reached maximum by noon. After 5 hours, The temperature decreased by 15°C.

To find: The temperature of the city at 6 P.M.

Step wise Solution:

From the given data,

The temperature at morning = 20°C

Considerations:

From the given data, it can be considered that the noon time is 01:00 P.M. (13:00 hrs)

From the above consideration, the time after five hours from noon will be 6 P.M. in the evening (18:00hrs).

Calculation:

Given that the temperature at noon increased by 19°C. Hence, to find the temperature at noon, 19°C should be added to the morning's temperature.

⇒Temperature at 01:00 P.M. = 20+19 =39°C

Now, from the given data, the temperature after 5 hours from noon, decreased by 15°C. To find the final temperature at 06:00 P.M., 15°C should be subtracted from the noon temperature 39°C.

⇒Temperature at 06:00 P.M. = 39-15 = 24°C

The required temperature of the city at 06.00 P.M. = 24°C

Hence, found.
