The measured values,

t´ = t2 + t1

= ( 50°C \frac{ + }{} 0.5°C) - (20°C \frac{ + }{} 0.5°C)

t´ = 30°C  \frac{ + }{} 1°C

Hence the rule : When two quantities are added or subtracted the absolute error in the final result is the sum of the absolute errors in the individual quantities.
