Yes that seems to be very basic calculation.

Today seems to be 7 degree Celsius and yesterday was 13 degree3 cooler.

Then the solution is 7-13= -6 degree Celsius.

Temperature seems to be the physical quantity which express cold and hot.

It is a proportional measure of average kinetic energy of random motion of constituent particles of matter in a system.

The temperature today is 7 degrees Celsius

⇒ Temperature today = 7ºC

Find the temperature yesterday:

Let the temperature yesterday be x

Yesterday was 13 degrees Celsius cooler than yesterday

⇒ It is cooler, therefore the temperature decreases

Solve x:

⇒ x = 6 - 13

⇒ x = -7ºC

Answer: The temperature yesterday was - 7ºC
