Given :- The temperature was (-15) degrees Fahrenheit at 6:00 am. The temperature rose 4 degrees Fahrenheit every hour until 12:00 pm.

To Find :- At what time did the temperature reach 1 degree Fahrenheit ?

Solution :-

→ Temperature at 6 AM = (-15) F = first term

→ Temperature rose every hour = 4 F = common difference .

→ Tn = 1 F

so ,

→ Tn = a + (n - 1)d

→ 1 = (-15) + (n - 1)4

→ 1 = (-15) + 4n - 4

→ 1 = 4n - 19

→ 4n = 1 + 19

→ 4n = 20

→ n = 5 hours.

then, at 5th hour the temperature becomes 1 F, or 5th term of AP is +1 and 1st term is (-15) . then , from first term our 4th term is +1 .

therefore,

→ Required time = 6 AM + 4 hours = 10 AM (Ans.)

Given :  The temperature was (-15) degrees Fahrenheit at 6:00 am.

The temperature rose 4 degrees Fahrenheit every hour until 12:00 pm.

To Find :  At what time did the temperature reach 1 degree Fahrenheit?

Solution:

-15° F  temperature at 6 : 00 AM

The temperature rose 4 degrees Fahrenheit every hour

Hence

F( T)  =  -15 +  4T

T = Time in hrs from  6 : 00 AM

F(t) = Temperature after  T hrs from 6 : 00 AM

temperature reach 1 degree Fahrenheit

=>  F(t) = 1

=> 1  = -15 + 4T

=> 16 = 4T

=> T = 4

4 hrs from   6 : 00 AM

=> 6 + 4 = 10   AM

At 10 AM  the temperature reach 1 degree Fahrenheit
