(i) Ascending Order - An arrangement of numbers from small to big is known as ascending order.
So the temperature in ascending order would be -
37 < 41 < 42 < 42 < 43 < 44 < 45
(ii) To find an average of a set of numbers we add all of them and divide them by the number of numbers in the set.
So the average temperature in Lahore would be -
( 37 + 41 + 42 + 42 + 43 + 44 + 45 ) ÷ 7
294 ÷ 7 = 42
Therefore the average temperature in Lahore would be 42 degrees.
(iii) To find the median we need to arrange the numbers in either ascending order or descending order and then the middle number would be the median.
So the median of the temperatures would be -
Ascending Order - 37 < 41 < 42 < 42 < 43 < 44 < 45
The middle number is 42 and therefore 42 would be the median.
(iv) Mode of a data is the number that is most frequently found.
So the mode in this data is 42 since it occurs twice whereas the other numbers occur only once.
(v) To find the range of a data we subtract the smallest number to the largest number.
So the range of this data would be -
45 - 37 = 8
Therefore the range of this data is 8.
