The tendency of body to return back to its original shape when deforming force or remove is called Elasticity.

Additional Information

Elasticity

Elasticity is the property of objects due to which they oppose any change made in them by a deforming force and attain their initial state as the deforming force is removed.

Objects having such type of property are known as elastic objects and objects which do not have this property are known as inelastic objects.

Elastic Limit

The upper limit of the deforming force upto which, if deforming force is removed, the body regain its original form completely and beyond which if deforming force is increased, the body loses its property of elasticity and gets permanently deformed is called elastic limit.
