the tendency of group 15 elements to show -3 oxidation state decreases as we move down the group from N to Bi due to a gradual decrease in the electronegativity and ionisation enthalpy . please explain this statement with respect to the decrease in the electronegativity and ionization enthalpy .

See..it has less electronegativity...so it can attract less electron in outer orbital...therefore you can say that it has tendency to donate electrons..and it will be positive..(as we move down).
likely..as we move down..the ionization enthaly decrease..so it will donate electron more easily....and it will become positive..so there are less possibilities of -3 oxi. state
