Given:

The ten's and one's digit of a two-digit number is the same

Sum of the number and its reverse = 88

To find:

The number

Solution:

Let the ten's and one's digit of the number be y and y respectively.

So the number can be represented as 10y + y

According to the question,

10y + y + y + 10y = 88

or 22y = 88

or y = 4

Hence the number is 10 X 4 + 4 = 44.
