Answer:

The number is 24  .

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

Statement I

The tenth place digit of a two digit number is square of the unit place digit.

statement II

The sum of the two digit number is 6 .

Let The number is 10 x + y

According to question

y = x²                  ...1

And  x + y = 6               ........2

Form eq 1 and 2

x + x² = 6

Solving this quadratic equation

x² +  x - 6 = 0

or,  x² + 3 x - 2 x - 6 = 0

Or, x ( x + 3) - 2 (x + 3) = 0

Or, (x + 3) ( x - 2) = 0

i.e  x = 2 , - 3

Put the value of x in eq 1

So, y = 2² = 4

So, The number 10 x + y = 10 × 2 + 4 = 24

Hence, The number is 24  . Answer
