the thickness of a hollow metallic cyclinder is 2cm. It is 35cm long and its inner radius is 12cm. Find the volume of metal required to make the cylinder assumeing it is open at either end.

outer radius = inner radius + thickness
= 12 + 2 = 14 cm

required volume = whole cylinder volume - inner volume
= (pie) R2 h - (pie) r2 h
= pie * (R2 - r2) * h
= 22/7 (142 - 122) * 35
= 110 (196 - 144)
= 110*52
= 5720 cm3

Then the ans is= 5720cm³
