Answer :

  • 140 is the minimum height of each piles such that both pile of same height

Given :

  • The thickness of a science book is 20mm
  • Mathematics boom is 28 mm
  • Books of each type are stacked up in a separate pile

To find :

  • The minimum height of each pile such that both pile of same height

Solution :

Given that

  • Science book = 20 mm
  • Mathematics book = 28 mm

First we have to find the LCM of 20 and 28 then we get the minimum height of piles

》20 = 2 × 2 × 5

》28 = 2 × 2 × 7

》LCM = 2 × 2 × 5 × 7 = 140

Hence 140 is the minimum height of each piles such that both pile of same height

♧Question♧

  • The thickness of a science book is 20 mm and that of a mathematics book is 28 mm. Books of each type are stacked up in a separate pile. Find the minimum height of each pile such that both piles are of same height.

♧Answer♧

Given data:-

  • ➠Thickness of Mathematics books = 28mm
  • ➠Thickness of science books = 20mm

To find:-

  • ➠The minimum height of each pile such that both piles are of same height = ?

Solution:-

According to the question the mathematics book is 28mm thick and science book is 20mm thick.

Now,By taking the LCM of 20 and 28.

  • ➠20 = 2 × 2 × 5
  • ➠28 = 2 × 2 × 7
  • Common factors = 2 × 2 = 4
  • Non common factors = 5 × 7 = 35
  • Least common factors(LCM) = 4 × 35 = 140

So the minimum height of each pile is 140.
