1. Yes Hari Singh was a deceiver as he betrays Anil who gives him a job in his house in spite he knows that Hari Singh was a thief and cheat. But when Anil hires him again he keeps the money back to its place.

2. The wet notes under the mattress were the money Hari Singh had stolen from Anil's house but later he put them under the mattress in Anil House so these notes were called wet notes.

3. Anil was a writer and did not earn much so Hari Singh worked in the house only for food. Hari Singh did odd jobs like brought the day's supplies from the market and he made a profit of a rupee out of that money out of his purchases.
