The half life period for the reaction is 16.1 min
• Let, k be the rate constant
• t1/2 be the half life
• t be the time of reaction
• Ao be initial concentration
• A be final concentration after reaction
• We have , time taken for completion of first order reaction
• t = 1/K * 2.303 * log(Ao/A)
• But again , K = 0.693/ t1/2
• So ,
t =2.303/.693 t1/2 log (Ao/A)
• According to the question,
• 32 min = 3.3 t1/2 log {1/(1/4)}
=> t1/2 = 32/ (3.3 * log4 )
= 32/ 1.98
=16.1
