The three Round Table Conferences of 1930–1932 were a series of peace conferences organized by the British Government and Indian political personalities to discuss constitutional reforms in India. These started in November 1930 and ended in December 1932.

It was attended by 46 delegates only the Indian National Congress refused to attend the conference. Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar who attended the conference demanded separate election for the depressed classes.
Eventually the then Prime Minister of Britain announced an award known as the communicable award . The award provide separate representation to

- Sikhs
- Indian Christians
- Anglo-Indians
- European and
- Depressed class .
Mahatma Gandhi strongly opposed this award on the ground that it would distingrate Indian society and start of faith of protest against it . Om 25th September 1932 the argument known as Poona pact was signed between Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and the Congress. The argument provides the representation of seats from the depressed class in the provision legislatures within the general electorate.
Due to the fact the depressed class received 148 seat in the Legislature.
Instead of the 71 allocated in the communicable award earlier proposed by the British Prime Minister.
