The threshold frequency for a metal is 7.0*10^14 s^-1. Calculate the kinetic energy of an electron emitted when radiation of frequency =1.0*10^15 s^-1 hits the metal.

Hello,
You can use the formula,
K.E=hv-hv"
(here v is radiation frequency and v" if threshold frequency).

k.E= h(v-v")

K.E=6.63×10^-34(1×10^15 - 7×10^14)
K.E=6.63×10^-34(1-0.7)×10^15
K.E=6.63×0.3×10^-19

K.E=1.989×10^-19 Joules.

Hope that helps.
