Summary on The throne of justice:

The throne of justice, an adaptation based on ‘the throne of Vikram’ written by Romila Thapar is a short story that shows the worth of a character irrespective of his position in the society. The story begins with few shepherd boys who find a mound of stones that seems to be lost in time. Playing casual games of recreating courtroom trials, the parents of the kids notice an unusual thing among the boy who keeps playing the King.

The judgements of the boy were so wise to come from a boy of that age. Soon the King came to know about this curious case, making him recollect that the mound may be hiding the throne of Vikramaditya which was known to give wisdom to those who sat on it. With the help of his guards, the King extracts the throne and assigns a day to use it.

But when he tried using it, he was questioned for his purity in character by the eagle(garuda) that appeared on the throne to which he spent the rest three days with prayers and fasting. The same question was asked again 24 times by other eagles which were again followed by him fasting for three consecutive days each time repenting on past mistakes. Finally, the last garuda made the king realise why he was rejected all 25 times, thus reforming him into a new man to see each person equally.
