The time interval between transmission and reception of a signal at radar station is 30 µs. What is the
distance of the intercepting plane from the station? (Take speed of radio waves is 3 x108 m/s)
[The word "radar" stands for radio detection and ranging]

Answer:

we know distance= velocity×time

but transmission and reception needs 2×distance covered

2S=U×T

S=(3×10^8 ×30×10^-6) /2

S=450 m
