Given :   time it takes to drive between two cities varies inversely as speed

seema drives in 3.5h at 60km/h.

To Find : How long will this journey take if she drives at the speed of 70 km/h

Solution:

time it takes to drive between two cities varies inversely as speed

Time ∝  1/ Speed

=> Time x Speed = Constant

Constant is  Distance between two cities  = D  km

=> Time x Speed = D

Time = 3.5 hr

Speed = 60 km/hr

Distance = 3.5 x 60  = 210 km

speed of 70 km/h

Time = ?

Distance = 210 km

=> 210   = Time x  70

=> Time = 3  hr
