Given that,

The time of reverberation of a room-A is one second.

To find,

The time of reverberation of a room having all the dimensions double of those of room A.

Solution,

The time of reverberation of a room is given by :

T\propto \dfrac{V}{S}

V is volume of room

S is total surface area of room

We can write as :

\dfrac{T_1}{T_2}= \dfrac{V_1}{V_2}\times \dfrac{S_2}{S_1}

If all the dimensions is doubled, then,

\dfrac{T_1}{T_2}= \dfrac{V}{8V}\times \dfrac{4S}{S}\\\\\dfrac{T_1}{T_2}=\dfrac{1}{2}

Here, T₁ = 1 s

T_2=2\ s

So, if all the dimension of the room is doubled, then time of reverberation of a room gets doubled.
