Given :- The time taken by a train of length of 20 m moving with a speed of 60 km/h to cross a station of length 100 m is ?

Solution :-

given that,

→ Length of train = 20m

and,

→ Length of station = 100m .

so,

→ Distance covered by train while crossing the station = Length of train + Length of station = 20 + 100 = 120 m .

now,

→ speed of train = 60 km/h = 60 * (5/18) = (50/3) m/s .

then,

→ Time taken by train to cross the station = Distance/speed = 120/(50/3) = 120 * (3/50) = (36/5) = 7.2 seconds (Ans.)

Hence, The train will take 7.2 seconds to cross the station .
