\bold{\red{Stomata}}are the tiny pores on the surface of the leaves

Stomata is also called as a guard cells because it is responsible for opening and closing of pores of leaves. When plants having excess water in leaves then the stomata swells and opens its pores for transpiration (a process in which excess water is released from the leaves for photosynthesis). When there is no need of water to release then the stomata automatically closes it's pores.

List of stomata types are as follows:

  • Anomocytic Stomata
  • Anisocytic stomata
  • Diacytic stomata
  • Paracytic stomata
  • Gramineous stomata
