Correct Question :

The tips of a drawing pin has an area of 0.02 m² . Calculate the pressure exerted if a force of 30 N is applied by it.

Solution

Pressure : Pressure is force exerted by one object on other object.

Pressure exerted is given by,

Pressure (P) = Force(F) / Area (A)

Now we have,

Force applied = 30 N

Area = 0.02 m²

We will use the same formula we have :-

Pressure = Force / Area

⇒ Pressure = 30/0.02

Pressure = 1500 Pascal or, N/m²

So to say,

Pressure exerted = 1500 Pascal
