Muhammad Husayn al-Katib Kashmiri was a famous calligrapher, who worked in the court of Mughal Emperor Akbar.

He was inferred the title of ‘Zarrin Qalam’ by Akbar, which meant ‘Golden Pen’.

His service was continued in the court of Jahangir as well and many manuscripts of his works in Persian language are found.

He adorned all his writings with small and colorful drawings of birds and floral designs along the margins.
