Given:

  • Height of the wall = 3.2 m
  • Distance between the bottom of the ladder and the wall = 2.4 m

To find:

  • Length of the ladder.

Solution:

We can find the length of the ladder using \underline {\mathcal {\red {Pythagoras\ Theorem}}}

H² = P² + B²

As per the given question,

  • H (Hypotenuse) is the length of the ladder
  • P (Perpendicular) is the height of the wall
  • B (Base) is the distance between the bottom of the ladder and the wall

Substitute the values,

H² = (3.2)² + (2.4)²

H² = 10.24 + 5.76

H² = 16

H = √16

\boxed {\bf {\pink {H = 4\ m}}}

Length of the ladder:

Length of the ladder is 4 m.
