Since the perimeter and length of the tape will be same,
Let it be x
2(50+30)=2(x+17)
100+60=2x+34
160=2x+34
160-34=2x
126=2x
126/2
=63 cm

Answer:

The length of the tape is 63 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The top of a rectangular box of sides 50cm by 30cm is covered with a tape of breadth 17 cm.

To find : What is the length of tape used?

Solution :

Since the Perimeter and length of the tape will be same,

Let the length be x

P=2(l\times b)

2(50+30)=2(x+17)

100+60=2x+34

160=2x+34

160-34=2x

126=2x

x=\frac{126}{2}

x=63 cm

Therefore, The length of the tape is 63 cm.
