Then, AP = AB - PB = AB - CD = 20 - 14 = 6

Join the AC and CP.

AC is the wire connecting the tops.So, you have to find AC.

In ACP,

Þ sin 30 = AP/AC

Þ 1/2 = 6/AC

Þ AC = 12

So, 12cm is your required answer.
