Answer:

The torque in new unit system is 1.6 unit.

Explanation:

  • Torque: Torque is the moment of force. The formula for torque is - Torque = F × d ,   here F = applied force and d = the perpendicular distance between force and the axis of rotation.
  • The SI unit of torque = SI unit of ( force × distance) = N × m = Nm

Now Newton can be expressed as : kg m/s²

So, SI unit of torque = (kg m/s²)m = kg m²/s²

  • New unit system: Suppose in new unit system, unit of length = m', unit of mass = kg' and unit of time = s'.

      (i) length's unit: 1 m' = 10 m ,  1 m = 0.1 m', 1m² = (0.1m')² = 0.01 m'²

      (ii) Mass's unit: 1kg' = 5 kg,   1 kg = \frac{1}{5} kg'

      (iii) Time's unit: 1s' = 2s,       1 s = \frac{1}{2} s',     1 s² = ( \frac{1}{2} s')² = \frac{1}{4} s'²

     Now 1 kg m²/s² = \frac{1kg\times 1 m^2}{1s^2} = \frac{\frac{1}{5} kg' \times 0.01m'^2 }{\frac{1}{4} s'^2} = 0.008 kg' m'²/s'²

  • Solution:

The given torque = 200 Nm

                       = 200 kg m²/s²

                       = 200 × 0.008 kg' m'²/s'² [as 1 kgm²/s² = 0.008 kg'm'²/s'²]

                       = 1.6 kg' m'²/s'²
